Celebrating the official launch of the Vertical Film & Short Series Alliance — a night of insight, inspiration, and community.
On July 9th, 2025, we officially launched the Vertical Film & Short Series Alliance (VFSSA) — and what an inspiring night it was!
Hosted in an atmosphere charged with creativity and anticipation, the event brought together creators, producers, and visionaries passionate about redefining storytelling in the vertical space.
"From meaningful panel discussions to vibrant conversations over drinks, it was incredible to see media and industry colleagues come together to celebrate vertical storytelling as a powerful, evolving format."
Through engaging panels and intimate Q&A sessions, guests explored the art, technology, and market potential of vertical storytelling.
From TikTok to premium vertical series, the conversation centered around how creators are turning the smartphone into a cinematic canvas — and how the VFSSA will lead this movement with vision and integrity.
The night also celebrated the powerhouse team behind the VFSSA —
Alicia Read, Monika Dalman, Sammie Astaneh, and Dani Barker — each bringing a unique voice, expertise, and creative spirit to the Alliance.
Together, we’ve built something designed to support, connect, and empower the professionals shaping this new narrative form.
It’s more than a format — it’s a movement.
Our mission: to legitimize vertical filmmaking with community, shared standards, and structural support that helps creators thrive.
At its core, the VFSSA was created to champion creative professionals working in vertical formats — from performers to producers, directors to distributors.
The energy in the room confirmed it: this is just the beginning.
The VFSSA launch wasn’t only about celebrating a milestone — it was about starting a movement that redefines how stories are seen, shared, and valued.
To everyone who joined us, supported us, and believed in the vision — thank you. Your presence, insight, and enthusiasm are what make this Alliance come alive.
